Updates & Changelog
A record of what's new in Shuffle Up and Deal! — latest first.
- Initial launch
- Shuffle Up and Deal! is submitted to the App Store: the initial launch build is now in review.
- Account deletion strengthened: a clear three-step confirmation explains exactly what will be removed, with a reminder to export a backup file first and a final type-to-confirm step.
- Deleting your account now erases everything across all our systems, including usage analytics and your billing profile, and signs out every device.
- TURNER now shows a "View in Heads Up" button when it compares two players — tap it to jump straight to the Heads Up comparison screen with both players already loaded.
- Fixed an issue where dismissal overlays (sync notices, sign-in confirmations, subscription prompts) could remain tappable after they had faded out, blocking the screen beneath.
- Fixed a crash loop when opening a rule detail from within a TURNER citation on certain device configurations.
- Improved sync reliability: the app now waits for any in-progress background operations to settle before treating a connection as fully ready, preventing occasional missed updates after a sleep/wake cycle.
- Improved reconnection speed: the app now triggers an immediate reconnect attempt when you bring it back to the foreground rather than waiting for the next scheduled check.
- Improved casting: when an external display is locked, the app now shows clearer guidance explaining that the TV screen needs the connected device to be unlocked to receive updates.
- Fixed a rare audio issue where the app could silence other media (such as music) playing in the background.
- Live Activity push notifications are now delivered more reliably to the lock screen when the blind level changes, using a dedicated clock boundary schedule.
- Subscription plans launched
- Free plan introduced: run casual home games (one tournament a week) with up to 2 tables and 20 players. All existing features continue to work within these limits at no cost.
- Paid plans (TD, TD Pro, Card Room) unlock higher player and table capacities, cloud backups, voice announcements, player statistics, Heads Up comparison, venue-to-league linking, and more.
- Usage meters appear throughout the app to show how much of your plan you are using.
- A new payout structure mode lets you allocate prizes as a percentage of the field rather than fixed positions.
- Tournament format creation now respects plan limits, with an upgrade prompt if you exceed the free tier.
- Version 1.0 build completed in preparation for App Store submission.
- A guided onboarding flow walks new users through the key features when they first sign in.
- A new Plan screen lets you view and manage your subscription from within the app.
- Priority support is included for Elite tier subscribers.
- Live Activity support added: the tournament clock now appears in the Dynamic Island and on the lock screen, keeping the blind level and time visible without unlocking your phone.
- The lock screen and Dynamic Island widgets update automatically when the blind level changes, even when every device at the table is locked.
- Live spectator pages now include a dedicated Standings tab showing live league points as the tournament progresses.
- Fixed a crash when opening the app directly from a lock screen widget tap.
- Plan management is available directly from the side menu — view your current tier, compare plans, and upgrade without leaving the app.
- Email notifications are now sent when your subscription changes tier.
- Improved handling of payouts and chip counts on the public live tracker page.
- The public live spectator page has been significantly upgraded: real-time blind level announcements with actual chip values, a clock tile, three KPI summary tiles, a Seating A-Z tab, and sound alerts for key tournament events.
- Spectator pages now show the league and season name next to the venue.
- The final-results ladder page now displays league points alongside finishing positions.
- Manual refresh on the spectator page now gives visual feedback while it loads.
- Voice announcements can now include the upcoming blind level — the app announces the next level's blinds a few moments before the change.
- Tournament results can now be shared as a public link — players can view the final ladder, results, and payout breakdown without needing the app.
- League leaderboards can be shared publicly. The share page includes qualification lines, season header branding, and league accolade badges.
- Fixed three issues identified during live testing: the break-warning voice announcement, final table break validation, and a stuck ceremony overlay.
- Automatic backup storage trimmed to the 5 most recent backups per account.
- New "Insights from the Felt" section on the Home screen: a shuffled bento of personalised stats — nemesis matchups, rivalry highlights, league accolade tiles, and tournament history — each tappable to jump directly to the relevant screen.
- Player head-to-head comparison added: compare any two players side by side across earnings, ITM rate, knockouts, and league points. A new Heads Up tab in the Players section, with a rating tier and explanatory modal.
- Privacy mode: a new option in casting settings hides all prize pool and payout amounts from the external TV display while keeping full information visible on the TD's device.
- In-app notification centre added with a bell icon — receive updates about tournament events, news, and app announcements without leaving the app.
- Devices can now be named and individually signed out from Account Settings.
- TURNER rules engine: TURNER now retrieves relevant sections of the TDA rulebook when answering rules questions, showing inline citation chips that open the full rule text and source link.
- Dispute Resolution Wizard added to TURNER: a guided four-step flow for resolving floor disputes, producing a structured ruling with applicable rules and a recommended floor call.
- TURNER is now context-aware: when you are viewing a specific tournament, league, venue, or player screen, TURNER automatically understands the context of your question without you having to describe it.
- Tournament Recap tab added to the results screen: a summary card showing duration, eliminations, biggest pot, average stack at bust, and rebuy totals. Exportable as a PDF or image.
- Registration screen redesigned with a dedicated cash-desk style readout, making it easier to track entries, rebuys, and the running prize pool at a glance.
- Rival and Nemesis stats added to player profiles: the player you knock out most often, and the player most likely to knock you out.
- League news feed added: the app can deliver news articles and updates directly to users, with admin-controlled audience targeting by subscription tier, country, and signup date.
- Waitlisting added for venues at full seating capacity: late arrivals are queued and can be seated as space becomes available.
- Forced-update and available-update notices can now be pushed from the admin panel.
- Flexible league season scheduling: leagues can now use calendar-preset seasons (monthly, quarterly, annual), custom repeating cadences in weeks or months, or manually placed season windows with explicit off-season gaps.
- Tournaments created outside an active league season now show a warning.
- The live-share page now correctly calculates players remaining until the final table when a larger final table size is configured.
- Fixed cross-device clock desync: the clock now stays in lockstep across all devices at the table, including after the app resumes from background.
- Configurable final table size added to tournament setup.
- Multi-device concurrent editing: two TDs can now edit different parts of the same tournament simultaneously — seat moves, eliminations, blind edits, and payout changes all merge correctly without overwriting each other.
- Cross-device rollback: undo snapshots are now synced, so a rollback triggered on one device is reflected on all connected devices within seconds.
- Seating conflict resolution: when two devices seat the same player simultaneously, the originating device receives a prompt to reseat the affected player rather than silently losing the action.
- Player statistics added: lifetime earnings, ITM rate, average finish, knockouts, re-entry count, and per-venue breakdowns. Filter by venue, league, year, or season.
- TURNER AI assistant launched (Phase 1): an in-app chat assistant for rules questions, tournament director craft, and general app help, powered by a large language model with rate limiting and moderation.
- Player profiles now show photo avatars, synced across all your devices.
- Leaderboard image and PDF export added to the league standings screen.
- Cross-device cloud sync: all tournament data is now synced in real time across all your devices using the same account. Start a tournament on your iPhone and continue on your iPad without any manual transfer.
- Cloud backup: your data is automatically backed up to the cloud, with the option to restore to any device.
- A new Sync Panel (two-finger swipe) shows live sync status, a per-device audit log, and lets you name each device.
- The app now works fully offline; any changes made without a connection sync automatically when connectivity is restored.
- ICM deal mode added: calculate and record chip-chop or ICM equity deals at any stage of the tournament, with full support for bubble payments and an unaffected-player pool.
- Bubble payments: mark players as paid before they are eliminated, with the bubble amount automatically deducted from the prize pool.

- Tournament winner modal: a celebratory screen when the winner is confirmed, with options to complete or continue playing.

- Payout card and live editing: edit payout amounts directly from the tournament screen, with support for manual overrides, percentage-of-field allocations, and cash-added prize pools.

- Rollback system: undo any recorded action and restore the tournament to an earlier state.
